Program

Civil Engineering

Mission

To educate professional with a solid academic foundation, with technical and human abilities, competent in the design and construction of civil works, with a strong emphasis in the management of construction and infrastructure projects. UPC’s civil engineers are committed to continuous learning and are open-minded in relation to new technologies and ways of doing.

Program Educational objetives (PEO)

The Program Educational objetives (PEOs) must be accomplished by graduates of the Civil Engineering program some years after graduating. These objetives are:

PEO 1: Technical Competence

Civil Engineers at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas will show solid technical and engineering knowledge to plan, design, and build civil works.

PEO 2: Adaptability and Versatility

Civil Engineers at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas will participate and interact in the different stages and roles of a civil engineering project with creativity and independent thinking.

PEO 3: Communication and Teamwork

Civil Engineers at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas will position themselves as leaders, mediators and conciliators among members of multidisciplinary teams. They will be known for their assertiveness.

PEO 4: Ethical and Professional Responsibility

Civil Engineers at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas will act responsibly in the practice of the profession, meets the profession’s standards and ethical principles, and respects the environment.

PEO 5: Continuing Education

Civil Engineers at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas will be familiar with current Civil Engineering topics through continuous learning, which will allow them to remain competitive in the market and become agents of change in the profession.

Incoming Student Profile

Incoming students of the Civil Engineering program are expected to show analytic and quantitative abilities and be interested in physics, as well as in construction and design. They must be interested in innovation and have skills to work in teams to develop Civil Engineering projects.

Graduate Student Profile

Graduate students of the Civil Engineering program are prepared to plan, design and execute civil works. They have a solid scientific and technological education that allows them to use modern techniques that satisfy the demands of the construction sector. They are professionals committed to ethical principles, professional standards and respect for the environment. They promote and integrate to teamwork in the different stages and roles in a project, and they communicate effectively in their Civil Engineering environment. They identify with a continuous learning culture and current issues that allow them to contribute to the country's development.
