Doctoral degree by Texas A&M University (United States). Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with specialty in Structures by Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, and Civil Engineer by Universidad Ricardo Palma.
He has extensive professional and academic experience in the United States, Brazil, Peru and Saudi Arabia. He worked as a research scientist and postdoctoral fellow in prestigious universities. He worked in R&D laboratories of high-tech companies such as Dassault Systemes, Inc. He was a finalist for the Melosh Medal in 2006 for the best doctoral thesis in computational mechanics in the United States.
