About the Program


UPC offers you a multidisciplinary education that focuses not only on law, but also on economics, finance and management. This will help you to think differently. You will be able to understand the reality and needs of an organization and you will negotiate all types of client transactions.

You will be provided with an interdisciplinary and international legal training that will prepare you for the global economy, through our specialization courses on Finance, Marketing and International Business. You will master all the classic and modern law contents, as well as all the alternative mechanisms regarding dispute resolution and negotiation skills. Your training will be in charge of prestigious and renowned professionals who will help you acquire the competencies for the prevention, conciliation and resolution of all types of legal situations, particularly at the corporate level. You will also be able to work in different fields of action that the globalized economy demands of today’s lawyers.

Additionally, UPC’s Law program is the only one in South America accredited by the Accreditation Council for Legal Education (CONAED). This recognition by the Accreditation Council, —a renowned institution recognized by the Federal Government of Mexico, which has accredited the Law programs of several important institutions such as Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Tecnológico de Monterrey (TEC), among others — is prove of our commitment to provide an education with the highest standard of international academic quality.

As incoming students of the School of Law, you need following aptitudes:

  • Be able to express adequately, both in writing and orally, and reach concrete solutions before any situation, based on the defense of your ideas.
  • Be able to establish relationships with others responsibly and be interested in learning about other disciplines, in addition to Law.
  • Cultivate an interest in reading and liberal arts.



Upon completion of the Law program, as graduate students you will be able to solve the disputes or situations that may arise. You will elaborate strategies with a solid legal structure for the solution of a specific case and you will be able to provide consulting services or dialog in an interdisciplinary way.

You will be aware of the local and international situation, which will allow you to identify the repercussions in the labor or social field.

Additionally, you will develop the following specific competencies:

Legal Research
You will determine the law sources that are relevant to the application and resolution of specific cases and you will relate them to real life situations.

Legal Reasoning
You will develop strategies, arguments, operations and legal structures that will allow you to formulate solution alternatives. Likewise, you will resolve disputes, provide consulting and make legal transactions.

You will talk and interact actively with professionals from disciplines or scenarios, different from the legal field.

Local and Global Perspective
You will be aware of the national and international situation and of its impact on the labor and social environment where you operate. You will also promote values and guide citizen awareness so as to achieve a friendly coexistence in society.
