INCOMING STUDENT PROFILE

As incoming students of the Professional Translation and Interpreting program, you will ideally show the following characteristics:

  • Interest for languages and cultures
  • Mental flexibility
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • You must also show intellectual curiosity, meticulousness and ability to work in teams, respecting and valuing diversity.

 

GRADUATE STUDENT PROFILE

Upon completion of the program, as graduates of the Professional Translation and Interpreting program, you will be able to autonomously write Spanish texts of different genres and varying complexity with a high level of style and mastery of the Spanish norms. You will also use two foreign languages with flexibility, which will be evident in the adequate use of organization, cohesion and articulation mechanisms. You will be able to translate according to the translation brief, as well as to manage translation projects based on a deep knowledge of the translation process and on the creation of effective interpersonal relationships, respecting and valuing diversity. You will be able to use the consecutive interpreting method accurately and effectively in the relevant fields and to articulate your command of specialized and generic computer tools with both the translation and the interpreting processes. Additionally, you will carry out research projects on topics related to your specialty.
