"During the 2015-2 term, I had the opportunity to go on a study exchange at Universidad Europea de Madrid. I always knew that one of my goals was to undertake studies in a different country. Why? I wanted to discover another culture and the psychology approach in another country, and to challenge myself.
The challenge began from day one, when I realized how different the teaching methodology was. Classes are conducted by the students, the learning and challenge level is up to them; the professor acts only as a guide. Although I was not used to this way of learning, I realized how high UPC's academic level actually is. The competencies that we learn, such as actively listening, being empathetic and defending our own opinions in an assertive way, allow us to perform successfully in any scenario. Likewise, the handling of psychological tests, reports, interview techniques and the different psychological approaches makes our vision comprehensive, giving us analysis skills that stand out even in a different country. Finally as a life experience, living alone, traveling, stepping out of my comfort zone and solving problems by myself allowed me to get to know myself better and understand that there are no limits. It depends on each of us how high we want to reach. It was definitely the best experience of my life."

"The experience of taking part in an international exchange program is, undoubtedly, an important part of the consolidation process in my education as a psychologist, because discovering and being a temporary member of another culture allowed me to mature my vision regarding our own society, and its problems, possibilities and potentialities, all from a different perspective and from the other culture's side. The experience was rewarding in terms of the university I visited and its students, because on the one hand they all were really kind and took care of me and made me feel at home. On the other hand, the course contents, activities and class reflections were stimulating and strengthened my ideas about the importance of the role of psychology in our societies, as well as the value of university student's voluntary work and the important help that we can provide from our academic environments to the people that need it."
