Why study Dentistry at UPC?
The Dentistry program will give you the knowledge to improve your abilities and skills in order to
become a dentist with ethics, who is able to lead the labor market.

Dr. Plinio Gómez: Specialist in Oral Rehabilitation, author of several scientific publications in Chile and international lecturer
- Program designed to facilitate an international rotation as part of the students’ academic training.

- Management courses to prepare students for their independent professional practice.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
- In 2013, our program won the first and second place at the XXI National Encounter and XII Ibero-American Encounter on Dental Research in Mexico City, where our students' research work was recognized.
- That year, UPC’s Dentistry program had an outstanding participation at the VI International Congress of the Peruvian Society of Pediatric Dentistry, where we obtained the second place in the Scientific Poster category “Integral treatment of a patient with premature loss of deciduous molars by dental caries” at the undergraduate level.
- In 2014 we won the "Hipólito Unanue Prize for the Best Research Papers in Health Sciences in the Dentistry Area," in the students category, which was awarded to our student Lovely Ticona through Fundación Instituto Hipólito Unanue.
- That same year, UPC’s Dentistry program carried out the First UPC Award for Research in Dentistry, sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive Peru. In 2015, the Second Award for Research in Dentistry was held.
- In 2014, Rocío Jara, the winner of the First Award for Research, participated with her winning paper—the result of her thesis research project—in the XXV UPC-Colgate Award for Research in Dentistry, as part of the XXV National Encounter on Dental Research ACFO, in Santa Marta, Colombia.
- In addition, in 2015 Estefany Pérez, the winner of the Second Award for Research, participated with her winning paper—the result of her thesis research project—in the XXV UPC-Colgate Award for Research in Dentistry, as part of the XXV National Encounter on Dental Research ACFO, in Santa Marta, Colombia.
- In 2015, Iris Salazar and Renato Maestri, graduates of UPC’s Dentistry program, obtained the first and second place, respectively, in the presentation of the scientific papers (posters) of their research projects in the Undergraduate category at the VIII International Congress of the Peruvian Association of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials (Aporyb).
- That same year, our student, Arnaldo Munive was awarded the first place at the Fourth Meeting on Research, for his paper “Evaluation of the antibacterial effect of chlorhexidine gluconate and quaternary ammonium as a treatment of biofilm in the irrigation system of dental units,” at the VIII International Multidisciplinary Congress organized by the Dentistry Association of Lima.
